24 May 2017 - The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Vancouver has resumed the processing of documents of directly hired overseas Filipino workers.

The resumption was ordered by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III through Administrative Order 155-A, Series of 2017, issued on May 16, 2017. This new Order lifted a prior regulation, Administrative Order 155, which temporarily suspended the issuance of overseas employment certificates for all directly hired Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

POLO clarified, however, that said processing is subject to the same requirements set forth under the provisions of the
Revised Rules and Regulations Governing the Recruitment and Employment of Land-based Overseas Filipino Workers of 2016.
