30 November 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver announces the commencement of registration for overseas voters on 1 December 2016. Filing of applications for registration is until October 31, 2018.

Those who successfully register shall be eligible to vote, as overseas voters, in the Philippine national elections of 2019 and thereafter.

The Consulate encourages all qualified Filipino citizens, who are not registered overseas voters, to personally file their applications at the Consulate office located at Suite 660, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 3E1.

Applicants for registration must be at least eighteen (18) years of age on 13 May 2019.  Hence, those born on or before 13 May 2001 may register. 

To register, applicants must personally appear at the Consulate or during scheduled consular outreach or field registrations (to be announced at a later date) within British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories for biometrics capturing and bring any of the following requirements:

1) Photocopy of valid Philippine passport
2) Copy of Oath of Allegiance or Proof of Philippine citizenship (for dual citizens without valid Philippine passport)
3) Copy of Seaman’s Book (for seafarers)

Applicants may also schedule their appointment through iREHISTRO, an online system that provides them the convenience of accomplishing forms for voter registration related process. However, applicants will still have to appear personally at the Consulate or mobile/field registration sites, to sign and submit their duly accomplished printed form, and for biometrics capturing.
