12 August 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver successfully launched Winter Escapade 4 (WE4) on 12 August 2016 at the Consulate General reception area.
Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer invited snowbirds, particularly Filipino-Canadians and their friends, to take part once again in the Winter Escapade Tour to the Philippines. Highlighting the success of the past three WE tours, Consul General Ferrer announced the four main destinations of WE4, namely, Vigan, Ilocos Sur; Laoag, Ilocos Norte; Coron, Palawan; and Manila, scheduled to be visited from 6-14 February 2017.
The full itinerary of WE4 was presented to the audience, composed of representatives from travel agencies and tour operators, Fil-Canadian media, members of Filcom organizations, previous WE tour attendees, and prospective participants. Daily highlights and inclusions of the tour package were discussed.
Ms. Jenny Pabilona-Santos, Rajah Tours representative, who serves as the ground handler for WE4, and Mr. Jerome Jimeno, Sales Manager of Philippine Airlines in Canada, were on hand to address inquiries on the itinerary, fares and availability of flights. Previous WE participants also shared their positive experiences during the reception that followed the launch to enhance the confidence of interested first-time participants.
Ten participants registered on the spot for WE4 during the event. More participants from Vancouver and other cities within British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories are expected to register in the following weeks.
