15 August 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver wishes to inform the public that effective 01 October 2016, the Consulate General will no longer accept non-machine readable passports/travel documents from all visa applicants.
This advisory applies to all types of passports including ordinary, official, diplomatic, and/or service documents, except for temporary travel documents designed for emergency situations as per the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidelines.
Furthermore, Canadian nationals availing themselves of the 30 day visa free entry, are informed that the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) shall no longer allow the entry of foreign nationals holding non-machine readable passports/travel documents into the Philippines by 1st quarter of 2017. - END
