6 May 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver wishes to inform the public that in accordance with COMELEC OFOV Guidelines 2016-009, mailed ballots received by the Consulate on May 9, 2016 before 12:00 noon local time shall be considered valid and included in the counting of votes.
In this regard, the final batch feeding of ballots in Vancouver will be held immediately after all the mailed ballots received by the Consulate on May 9, 2016 before 12:00 noon have been sorted, verified and recorded by the SBRCG, in accordance with COMELEC procedures.
The close voting procedures will take place immediately after the completion of the batch feeding of the remaining mailed ballots.
For personal voting, the deadline in Vancouver remains at 2:00 a.m. on May 9, 2016 (5:00 p.m., Philippine time).
All duly-accredited representatives (watchers) of political parties are invited to witness the conduct and proceedings of overseas voting at the Consulate. END
